Plot location: Accotink Wildlife Refuge- off Loop Trail- As trail turns to the left (south) proceed straight at the trail sign down to the water. Plot is 230 degrees from a rock mound with Sweetgum and Quercus montana.
See plot form for location and position of plot.
Undoubtably some species were not recorded in this plot, primarily the Carex species, due to the lateness of the season. Covers were estimated slightly higher for the Carex species because they are now visually reduced. West of the plot is a low tidal marsh and to the east is a band of Acer rubrum, Betula nigra, Liquidambar, Salix nigra, open forest of small trees with a graminoid herb layer and an Alnus serrulata understory. A Beech-Mixed Oak forest is upland from this area.
This is a permanently marked plot.
